Special Passenger Records is currently looking for bands to participate in The Hanukkah Project, a compilation cd and so much more to be released this winter.  The finished project will be a hand printed box of presents including Hanukkah goodies, Special Passenger buttons and a cd with original Hanukkah songs.  It will be silly, cute, handmade and collaborative, which is exactly what Special Passenger Records is all about.

A Dubb Nubb Hanukkah!

We plan to release the project on Thursday, December 3rd at a big Hanukkah party at One to One Studios in Jackson, MS.  This party will feature The Bachelorettes and Can!!Can from Atlanta, GA.  Of course, there will be latkes, dreidel and a Manischevitz shot bar.

Elliot Wilson, Dee Bird & my mom..hopefully 2/3 will be on the album!

The S.S.Passenger pulls into port in just two days! Don’t forget to dust off your cruise ship costumes and come to 121 on Thursday for the release of the Special Passenger Project CD. We are so excited to get these albums playing on your car stereos and yacht sound systems! $10 at the door gets you the CD, performances by some great local acts, and a chance to win a 121 membership (free shows for a year!). Thanks to everyone who came out to One Blu Wall on Thursday during Arts Eats and Beats to see The Bachelorettes.  We were happy to bring the beats to our friends who sang along to every song and to the strangers walking by.

This weekend is the Crossroads Film Festival where Lizzie is an official photographer! There are films showing today and tomorrow and fabulous music tonight at Hal and Mals.

We can’t stop! It has been a crazy week of partying and concert going and there is only more to come.  Listen to the concert calendar and get your green wigs on for the craziest weekend in Jackson.  The Bachelorettes will be marching and riding in the Hal and Mals parade tomorrow wearing green wigs, lots of sparkles and playing glorious percussion beats.

Sunday and Monday we will be busy practicing, because we have a show on Tuesday (aghghgh!!!!) March 24th at 121 Studios–Taylor Hildebrand, The Physics of Meaning and THE BACHELORETTES! 8pm, $5   RSVP here!

Tonight is Janine’s Writers Spotlight at the Sneaky Beans at 7:30pm

Monday is the Jewish holiday of Purim!!  We are celebrating with Purim crafts, Megillah reading, carnival games, costume wearing, dance pong, and so much more!  RSVP 7pm at 121 Studios

March 19th at Sneaky Beans is a special performance of Taylor Hildebrand and Lizzie Wright.  It will be beautiful.

March 21st is the St. Patties Day Parade!!  Look for The Bachelorettes in green wigs.  You may even get to hear a song on the street!

March 24th, 121 Studios.  Taylor Hildebrand, The Physics of Meaning, The Bachelorettes. The Physics of Meaning will be here all the way from Chapel Hill and are very talented and friendly.

March 26th – DUBB NUBB are coming to Jackson!!!  They are the amazingly talented little sisters of Amanda and they are playing a show at Drink Space at Swell-O-Phonic.  Robert’s son Baxter will be opening and Lizzie Wright Super Space Ship + band will close out the night.

Holy Cow!! There is so much happening….MISSISSIPPI HAPPENING!!

Hey there boys and girls in radio land!  We have been busy and excited here in Bachelorettes land about our new radio project with Mississippi Happening on WLEZ 100.1 FM.  We are recording a concert calender each week to spread the word about Jackson’s music scene, and let people know about all the events going on that week.  The show is every Friday at 5pm and is an hour of pure joy and happiness as Daniel Guaqueta plays local Misssissippi music and discusses all the crazy things going on in the Jackson music world.
