Bachelorettes in the News!

So, the Bachelorettes were featured in this week’s Jackson Free Press thanks to our fav dj Viva la Cupcake!  You can read all about our business-meeting style practices and our trouble with rhymes in this charming profile.

Also, we want to thank our friends new friend, The Physics of Meaning, who played a great show with us last Tuesday at 121.  Rock-plus-violin is sure to be an up and coming genre that all the 16-year-olds will soon want to emulate!  Speaking of 16-year-olds, we were so pleased to have Amanda’s little sisters Hannah and Delia (otherwise known as Dubb Nubb) in town over the weekend.  If you were lucky enough to hear them play at either Swell-o-Venue or Sneaky Bean, then you probably already know that these twins bring the fun.  And, really, their special passenger song takes the cake.

Can’t wait to hear YOUR special passenger song!  Don’t forget to send it to The Bachelorettes by April 15.  We’ll be having a CD release party on April 30, details TBA!

The Name of Love

We can’t stop! It has been a crazy week of partying and concert going and there is only more to come.  Listen to the concert calendar and get your green wigs on for the craziest weekend in Jackson.  The Bachelorettes will be marching and riding in the Hal and Mals parade tomorrow wearing green wigs, lots of sparkles and playing glorious percussion beats.

Sunday and Monday we will be busy practicing, because we have a show on Tuesday (aghghgh!!!!) March 24th at 121 Studios–Taylor Hildebrand, The Physics of Meaning and THE BACHELORETTES! 8pm, $5   RSVP here!

Special Passenger Project

One of the things that we love about Jackson is the collaboration that goes on within the arts community.  People are always working together on events and projects and everyone  gets excited to contribute to the creative scene in Jackson.  Whether it is helping organize a literary reading, printing t-shirts or learning about a Jewish holiday, it is always amazing to us how wonderful and involved this community is.

With that, we are excited to formally announce our ‘Special Passenger’ project!  We are compiling a CD of ‘Special Passenger’ songs written by our friends and we need your help!  Click on the link below to learn all about Special Passengers and how you can contribute to this project.

Special Passenger Promo

The rules are simple:  Write and record a song inspired by the phrase ’special passenger’ and send it to The Bachelorettes by April 15th.  We will compile them and create a beautifully designed CD that will be released at a Special Passenger show/party on Thursday, April 30th, location TBD.  We will also love for you to play your songs at the party!  The CDs will be sold at various locations around Jackson and the proceeds will go to a charity or cause to be determined.  Please comment on this post if you have any ideas for donations or the project in general, or to let us know that you are participating.

We can’t wait to hear what everyone comes up with!

What a Special Passenger!

p.s.  Come out to our show at 121 on Tuesday, March 24th to see the debut of The Bachelorettes’ special passenger song!
