Special Passenger Records is a newly formed Jackson record label run by Annie and Amanda of The Bachelorettes. The label represents four girl bands: local 60’s pop group The Bachelorettes and Jackson singer songwriter Lizzie Wright Super Space Ship, as well as St. Louis artists Dubb Nubb and Dee Bird. Special Passenger Records emphasizes a ‘do it yourself’ philosophy; their album packaging and merch are handmade and they are dedicated to expanding local participation in the Jackson music scene. Inspired by the collaborative and supportive environment of Jackson, Special Passenger Records promotes musical experiences and projects that cultivate a sense of community.

Special Passenger Records will soon be releasing a zine project called The Wedding Album, including a compilation of three songs by The Bachelorettes (brides), Senryu (grooms) and Katie and the Bass Drums (best band) that were performed at the band wedding last August. The project will be available on October 24th at The Bachelorettes show at Ole Tavern on George St.

Coming soon — the launch of www.speshpassrecords.com and more projects and music, including a Hanukkah compilation album to be released in December.

It has been sort of a while since we have posted things on this blog.  In fact, SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED!  If I wrote a Delia-style (d-style) re-cap it would probably take a really long time.  Dang.  Well, we went to Texas, we had a Bachelorette party in New Orleans, WE GOT MARRIED IN JACKSON!

Since our return, there has been much recovery and many more adventures.  Annie and I decided to start a record label in Jackson called Special Passenger Records.  We are working on setting up a website and are beginning lots of exciting projects.  To start things off, we are presenting two shows next week!  Our own Lizzie Wright Super Space Ship is playing a Labor Day BBQ at the Gloveshack with Chris Wheeler and Asheville band Tony Wain and the Payne.  Then on Thursday…THE BACHELORETTES are playing our first show since tour at Hal & Mals courtyard with AJC.

We are also recording our vow song and a Hanukkah song for the Jackson Christmas compilation next week and are putting together a little zine project to give out at our Thursday show. Yay!  Check out the beautiful posters by Justin Schultz and please come out to the shows!  <3 <3 <3

Hey guys!!!! I have to apologize…I’ve been a little lazy with blogging lately, duh, but A LOT has happened since Michigan!!

After the Annie Blazer instrument was found (phew) we drove all those hours to Louisville, Kentucky, making up funny games in gas stations along the way. We arrived and immediately hit up a party, because we are 24-7 DTP, yo. The party was a nice little barbeque at Sean Netzer’s house, who is Amanda’s really good friend and #1 on my list! Sean made the Bachelorettes all special burgers, yummmm, he knows the way to my heart! After that, we arrived at the bar where we would be playing at, which was called the Rudyard Kipling. It was a really cute little place with pillow seating and lots of neat artwork. Before our set, there was a dinner theater production in the venue area, and it was called ‘Putting the F back in Art’, which we all thought was pretty funny (regressed minds!!!). We played an awesome show that night, even though only like ten people showed up, most of them being our friends. Nonetheless, we played ‘the best show ever’ and everyone in the audience was smiling the whole time! Following our best show was this crazy guitar guy named Will Owen Gage who was really crazy good, and played some songs with his dad, John Gage, and then our pal who worked at the bar danced a lot, he was cool. Ahaha. All while this was happening, Annie was chilling with some new friends and me and Amanda and Lizzie were hanging with some old friends outside! It was really fun. After that was over, we went back to spend the night at Lizzie’s pals house, had fun chilling with their weird cat, let in DTP Annie when she came home in the morning, and then hit the road the next rainy morning to our next stop….St. Louis…MY HOME!!!

The whole drive there I was so anxious, I really couldn’t wait to be in my own house for the first time in WEEKS! When we finally arrived to the gateway to the west (also the gateway to other things…), me and Amanda decided to give Annie and Lizzie a little tour of our beloved city, St. Louis Missouri! We passed by downtown through the highway and saw the Arch of course, and then went through to show them all the wonders of Forest Park, complete with the grand basin fountains and all the pretty museums. We passed by our old house and our synagogue, and finally arrived on our street. It was so great to see my parents, everyone was so happy!!!!!!! Everyone took a ‘nice rest’, discussed a weird nosed piñata, and then we had dinner of St. Louis style pizza with my sister Nicky and my cousin Danny and our parents Dennis and Laura. Now it was time for our Edwardsville, Illinois show!! Which by the way was ALSO THE BEST SHOW EVER!!!!!!!!! We got to the venue after driving for a long while and practicing our vocals in the tiger van. The place was called The Stagger Inn and was pretty dank. As usual our outfits were lookin sassy, I wore the golden dress! At the show, a whole bunch of our friends showed up, but most importantly, Joel and Nick, who attended our VERY first show all the way back in Jackson.  Nick made a special guest appearance during the Special Passenger song and Joel did his Gummy Bears song!! Everyone had a blast, and people got up and started dancing when we played ‘Facebook’! What a great time. To top it all off, the bands that played after us were really awesome too! After us was a sibling folk duo called the Hathaways who blended harmonies with guitar plucking and their cool Peruvian instrument to make beautiful folky stuff! I approved, I love sibling duo bands. After them was the long awaited set of Japanese Bat Bomb, formerly known as Cat Jump, who were playing their very last farewell show!!!!!! This was an amazing time, they played for nearly two hours and everyone was dancing the whole time!!! The Japanese Bat Bomb show was the most DTP moment of the whole tour, even though at times we stopped being DTP to play the shuffle board icy thing, where me and Nicky were against Nick and Annie (who won anyway, I forgot?) and besides, I was getting really anxious because my twin HANNAH had gotten home that night from GERMANY and I needed to see her stat!!!! But we stayed in Edwardsville for a really long time anyways because the bar took a really long time distributing the money to the bands at the end, so we ended up sitting outside eating animal fruit snacks for who knows how long! When we got home I saw Hannah for the first time in three weeks, which is the longest that we’ve ever been apart, and I was so happy to see her, we talked until 5:30 in the morning because we just had SO much to catch up on! Germany seemed awesome, I’m so glad she had a great experience.

The next day we ate some bagels and then headed out to the nursing home where my grandpa Irv lives to play him a mini set of the Bachelorettes! It was probably the most awesome thing we did all tour. He was really glad to see us play, and even though we only did about five songs without a pickup on the guitar or Amanda’s drums, we made SO many people happy! Even though we had only come to play for our grandpa, a whole bunch of old people and nurses and even this repair guy came into the room and listened and danced, too! Our favorite was this old lady in sunglasses who played the egg shaker to all our songs and told us that we can do anything if we try!!!!! She was great. All in all it was a very emotional experience and we were so proud of what we did.

That afternoon was spent getting ready for our house show in my backyard! It was a potluck BBQ and we had set out a lot of lawn chairs and borrowed a PA from our friends the Bashkins and were ready to get the party started. IT WAS CRAZY! So many people came, from all points of me and Amanda’s lives. Her college and high school friends, my current high school friends, members from all sides of our family were there, whoa there were some people that came that I didn’t even know! Even though all of this was very overwhelming, that didn’t stop us from putting on a spectacular show, complete with some Lizzie Wright Super Spaceship (PIE FOR COMPUTER) and a just okay Dubb Nubb set (hey, we had just been reunited!) complete with an accident curse word in front of a baby cousin. The Bachelorettes played and everyone was really impressed!!! It was pretty different, being our first outdoor show, but all in all we were pretty happy with how the show went, but even more happy with the secret that Lizzie told us in my bedroom!! Once again we hung out with our pals Joel and Nick (their third show!!) and even Sean came and a whole bunch of other pals! ALL MY FRIENDS WERE THERE TOO! They rule, and are DTP and ay okay! After Joel tried on all the wigs, it was time for everyone to go home and for the Bachelorettes to get a nice sleep, which was much needed, let me tell you. We live some crazy lifestyle on tour.

Amanda made some frittata thing in the morning for us all to eat with hotdogs, and then we packed up our tiger van, (including my twin sister!!!) and hit the road to meet up with Joel and Nick in the loop, which is this strip of shops and restaurants in St. Louis where all the cool kids go, duh. When we arrived, we got cream sodas from Fitz’s and Joel gave us some weird candy as presents from his cargo pockets. Ahhaha. We all went shopping A LOT and I bought a WIZARD! We had funny conversations and ate cheap Chinese food and decided that we better get on the highway to Columbia, Missouri because we had a show coming up!!! And it wasn’t just going to be any old show……it was going to be the last show on tour with me : (

Columbia is an awesome college town with a bunch of fun shops and stuff that we explored as soon as we got there! We met up with Josh Parshall’s awesome little sister and all enjoyed some delicious Sparky’s ice cream, with such flavors as pineapple upside down cake and poop cherry stuff Hannah got, hahah. While Annie read some weird comic book about the last man on earth, all of us crazy kids ran around Columbia purchasing many things such as a train hat, crazy colored/patterend shorts, and a BUBBLE SWORD!!! We all hung out in the commonground area of campus by the ancient columns still standing there, and Lizzie and the guys played some Frisbee troll game, and me and Hannah played pretty ukulele tunes. We met up with MY DAD and Amanda’s best pal from college, Alisha, for a lovely dinner at this restaurant Flatbranch, where many delicious mashers were eaten, scary hand driers were discussed, and many iPhones were bumped.

MY LAST SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was at this place called Café Berlin, which is the cutest breakfast and lunch and coffee place, full of cute artwork all over the walls and even silly signs on the door saying ‘NO DINOSAURS ALLOWED’ which made me sad, ahahhha. Many friends showed up, such as Amanda’s pal Kyle Cook and even the cool dude that sold us the bubble sword! I know I may have said it before that previous shows were the best show ever…but for me this was the VERY VERY best show ever!!!!!! For one thing, Super Spaceship played EXCELLENT and I even harmonized a few songs and danced a lot!!! Dubb Nubb played an almost FLAWLESS set and got everyone in good spirits!!! Of course not in as good spirits as when Joel did the Gummy Bears song and me and Nick did the dance moves and Hannah made bubbles in the background with the bubble sword! It was magical. In my floral tube top dress from the ‘80s, the Bachelorettes came on and played, yes you guessed it, the best show ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had so much fun and at the end I got emotional because it was just such a sad thing to be finally done with one of the best experiences of my whole life. It’s been really hard not being on tour anymore, all I want to do is be DTP with my best friends Amanda and Annie and Lizzie every single day.

Hannah was silly and locked the keys in the car, so after the Columbia show we had to stay at Café Berlin for another hour or so, waiting for the tow guy to come get it out. Some people got cranky, but some people just had fun singing folk songs and reminiscing on tails and nipps. You think we had enough of that Berlin place, but after sleeping at Jordan Parshall and Kyle Cook’s houses, we came back there in the morning for a lovely goodbye breakfast with all our friends and our Dad! Saying goodbye to my band-mates was the hardest thing of the whole tour.

I am sitting here at my home in St. Louis writing this blog, and I have to tell everyone that I really really wish I were writing this blog on mini computer in the tiger van, racing down highways of America with my sister and new sisters, headed off to new adventures while eating beef jerky hearts, thinking of a mustache, screaming the lyrics to ‘Hurricane’ by Mike Regardless, and laughing and laughing. There was no other way I would’ve wanted to spend my summer of my seventeenth year. To the friends and places and memories and music we fell in love with along the way, Summer Tour 2009, we will miss you forever. Peace out girl scout.

Hello everyone and everything reading this blog! I am sad to inform you that we have just left the state of pleasant peninsulas, Michigan, and are headed to Louisville, Kentucky on the highway, while listening to (TIGER VAN MUSIC UPDATE) The Mountain Goats while doing various activities such as eating beef jerky, knitting, and of course blogging on mini computer.

On Monday, we left New York and arrived in Detroit, Michigan just in time for a lovely date with each other of a pizza dinner and cinema experience of ‘Away We Go!’. It was a really goofy night for us, and we sat in the car and laughed about the stores we passed by (‘Slightly Pregnant’, ‘The Self Esteem Shop’), I guess everyone gets a little goofy/crazy after a 12 hour car ride. That night we stayed at Annie’s brother’s really nice little house, and would stay there for the whole time we were in Detroit.

On Tuesday, we explored downtown Detroit with Annie’s brother John, who fit right in with our silly bunch, and ate some flaming cheese and other good stuff at some greek place in Greektown. Detroit is a really interesting place, with lots of old, abandoned buildings among new condos and strip malls. The old peeling and broken buildings were really sad, but there’s this beauty in things like that, especially the old train station, which has been abandoned since the seventies. Creepy stuff.

Later that day, me and Amanda and Annie walked around the awesome strip of shops near where John lives, and successfully bought some beautiful things at this awesome vintage store, and got some coffee along the way (duh). We ate dinner at this neat brewery (nachos, score), and then headed down to PJ’s Lager House, where we instantly bonded with the sound guy and made friends with the other bands. The Detroit show was pretty weird, because we didn’t know anyone there because none of our friends showed, and we played a show with a free-jazz group (ha!) called The Clap (ahaha) with a sweet jewish guy on sax, and then this psychedelic really really loud band called Dark Red. Obviously, The Bachelorettes’ poppy, happy sound was not a really good match with these guys, but the show went on, and we actually got a really great response from the crowd, who gave us such compliments like that they have been having a bad week and our show made them happy again, and that we should create a mini musical out of our music! Ahaha. After the show, me and Annie enjoyed a delicious Mexican plate while Amanda and Lizzie got hit on by ‘the boys in the band’. Ha! That night I slept on John’s beanbag chair (again!), woke up in the morning and we hit the road to get some Detroit BBQ at Slow’s, which was mighty delicious with really great sides such as sweet potato mash and mac and cheese.

Before we left Detroit, we visited the insanely incredible Heidelberg Project, which is a street devoted to symbolic art started by this wonderful guy, Tyree, who we got the pleasure of meeting. All along a impoverished area of homes, the project is supposed to bring hope and art to the people who live there and to people all over the world who come visit it everyday. The project consists of houses and sidewalks and grassy plots of lands covered in colorful polka dots, old stuffed animals, shoes, toys, old cars, vacuum cleaners, abstract pictures of God’s face, and lots discarded items all painted in crazy colors, beautifully abandoned around this powerful place. We captured the heart of Tyree, and played him and the other people at the exhibit our Obama song, gave him a bachelorettes tshirt, and then he let us each paint a dot (these dots are pretty big, like a Frisbee size) in various places of the project, which was awesome for us. He said he was going to mention the visit of a cute sixties girl band to the Heidelberg Project in their newsletter! It was a moving experience.

Only an hour and a half away, the tiger van next entered the small town where Annie grew up, Laingsburg. It’s surrounded by beautiful green farmland, we just looked about ourselves at the pleasantness the whole time. We reached Annie’s family’s adorable house, and were greeted by the whole fam: her wonderfully charming mother Christine, her step dad David, younger brother Matt, and youngest brother Joe, who is my age, sortof. Ahaha. After helping with dinner, we all sat down for an awesome lentil soup meal and discussed the fun times of our tour so far, with our highlighted atlas handy. Afterwards, the Breck family got treated to a mini concert of me on ukulele, Lizzie Wright Super Spaceship, and a mini set of Bachelorettes. Awesome. The evening went on with us watching this AMAZING movie called Benny and Joon, which I had never seen before, and really really liked. After that me and Amanda and Lizzie and Annie and Joe played this weird card game called Caliente and I lost lots. Darn, Moags.

The next day was really fun. We had a quinoa lunch and then went and explored Laingsburg (not much to explore..), and managed to have a really great time going to the post office (DTP!!!), eatin honey sticks, and hittin up TWO garage sales, (I gots a fuzzy bear mask and penguin and owl cups. Rad). We got back and practiced our yoyo song for 3058603568 hours, and then later on headed down to LANSING for our show at Mac’s Bar. Annie’s whole family came!! The first band, the Satin Peaches, was supposed to sound like The Strokes, according to Annie, but they were a little harsher than that, and the lead singer guy’s finger was bleeding on his guitar the whole time! Ahaha. Lookin hot as always, our set went just okay, but as usual, we got a pretty good response from the crowd, who probably weren’t expecting a band like us! After the show, we went and hung out with Matt and his friends, which was pretty much a blast. We came home, and I watched some Flight of the Concords with my best friend Joe before going to bed. The next day we realized some awful things: 1. We were leaving Michigan and all of our new pals! 2. Our coolers smells like rotting fruit! 3. ANNIE’S BASS GUITAR WAS MISSING!

In a hurry to solve the missing bass mystery, we left the our adopted fam of two days, and headed down to Mac’s, but it no one was there, so we ended up hanging out in Lansing for a bit, eating sandwiches and hanging out with each other, what’s new? Annie decided to take us to this cool vintage shop in Lansing and guess who was working there and had some awesome news? The drum player girl from the last band that played on the line up the night before, who said that their band had picked up our bass guitar, and had it at their house! What a crazy coincidence, right? After that miracle happened, we went and got the bass and left Michigan, finally.

Salutations from the tiger van, currently on its way to Michigan!! We are making our 11 hour drive through flat lands of farms and cornfields and turnpikes while listening to various high energy music, such as ‘LET‘S HIT THE BEACH‘. Awesome, I love beef jerky.

As soon as we entered New York City, during traffic time around 6:00 on Saturday night, it was breathtaking for me. Being a new-comer to this city of our country, I couldn’t help but to look out the window in awe of what was around me. Apartment buildings stacked everywhere, alive with people and kids and graffiti and billboards and garbage and shops and rats and subways and skyscrapers and Hudson rivers and fashion and taxis and busy streets and faces. I really can’t explain it much better than that: It was beautiful. I had never seen anything much like it, and I fell in love.

Anyways, enough of that mushy stuff, the most important thing about this blog is that THE BACHELORETTES PLAYED A SHOW AT AN AWESOME LEGIT VENUE AND IT WAS INCREDIBLE! We entered this venue called the Southpaw in Brooklyn, which was very dark inside and had record covers and concert posters lining every inch of the walls. It was an awesome place to say the least. We were greeted by these badass sound guys, who seemed scary at first, but ended up being really sweet and befriended us right away! After sound check, we were lookin hot in our wigs and golden and black dresses, got on stage, and began playing ‘Mississippi’ for a big crowd of about fifty people! We were SO nervous. After all, really amazing bands were following us in the line up and we were the very first ones to go on! But in the end, we ended up playing an awesome/fun! show (which the sound guys recorded for us!!) and had all of our cousins and friends in the audience cheering for us. It was so exhilarating. So many of our friends and family from New York came to support us, which was great! We were so proud of ourselves for playing such a successful show, and finally realized, “Hey, we’re a really good band!!”

The second band that played was called the Evil Cowards, and we were really blown away by these guys. It was possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen, with really fast paced, melodic, keytar synth music! Ahahaah. Well anyways, the deal of the band was that it was two dudes (one of which was the lead singer of Electric Six) in civil war jackets with these three backup dancer girls in these short army uniforms, and they danced around and lip synced, OH MY GOD so great. We got the cd. My favorite part was when they put on the pig masks.

The next band was The Browns, who was playing their very last show. They were great, and played what they called ‘rock punk’. The bass player was Annie’s friend, Austin. They ruled, of course.

Following them, was the best band of them all called Gigantic Hand. I stood in the very front and pretty much had an amazing indie rock experience. The music was emotion-filled with swoony vocals and keyboard and guitar and WOW, it’s hard to explain but I was honored to play a show with these guys. It was fantastic.

The sound guy, Kevin, told the Bachelorettes that he’s seen thousands of bands come through Southpaw, and only 10% of those bands actually entertain him, and we were one of those bands! It was really cool to get compliments like that by a guy who works at a REAL venue where bands like Art Brut and Andrew Bird come through. Wow.

After the show was over, (we didn’t stay for the last band), me and Amanda split up from our band-mates for the first time of the whole trip (they went and hung out with their own friends!) and hit up the night life of NYC (yeah right!) with our bestest cousin, Jessica, and her really cool pal Danny. We got NEW YORK PIZZA which was delicious/big, and then we took the subway back to Jessica’s apartment and went to bed in her little nook!

We woke up in the morning and first talked to our Grandma and Uncky on skype, and were glad to see that everyone was doing well. After getting some bagels, we took a scenic walk through Central Park and ate them there by some fountains! Next, me and Jessica went up the Rockefeller building to the observation deck on the very top, and saw the most BEAUTIFUL birds eye view of the city and the buildings!!!! We took pictures, it was cool. After that we walked around the city and went shopping a little and then went and got gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and ate them in another park! YUMMM YEAH! After that we went home to take a nap, ahahah. During the nighttime we went to China Town and enjoyed a luxurious meal at the GOLDEN UNICORN and played a LOT of dtu with Jessica, and explored Times Square. It was so full of people and colors and lights and music and good spirits! I was so happy in New York, I couldn’t stop saying how much I loved it. It was so awesome to spend all that time with our cousin, Jessica, and our band-mates also had a great time having a whole day to catch up with their New York family and friends, too!

In the morning, me and Amanda left our beloved cousin and went on a confusing subway route (we got lost, oops!) to meet back with our band-mates, and that was the end of that. We left New York after only two nights and one day spent there. Isn’t that depressing? Not as depressing as realizing that I only have ONE more week left as a Bachelorette!

Hey yall.
It’s Delia, of course.
Right now we are sitting in traffic on our way to the city of all cities, NYC, so I decided, hey, why not blog about our AMAZING time in Washington D.C. last night? We had only been there for less than 24 hours, but it was still pretty cool.

TIGER VAN MUSIC UPDATE!!! We just got done listening to two Radio Lab episodes on Annie’s iPhone, one about zoo animals and one about laughter. They were really interesting! NOW we are listening to some Neutral Milk Hotel, from the ‘In the Aeroplane Over the Sea’ album. Nice choice, Lizzie.

We arrived in Washington D.C. yesterday around dinner time, and were immediately greeted by monuments like the Lincoln Memorial and such, which was very cool for a person like me, who had never been there before. The city and urban life there is absolutely gorgeous and full of life and culture, with colorful city houses and apartments and restaurants and shops everywhere. It was such a shock from being in all those small neighborhood college towns in North Carolina for so long, and then hitting up the BIG city of DC! It was awesome.

After borrowing a friend’s P.A. and dropping off all of our stuff at Cole’s house (Annie’s good friend from grad school, whom just happens to have an amazing space for a house show, equip with a mini stage-like platformed dining room!) we decided to go get some Ethiopian food, which was a new experience for me. After much dipping of spongey bread into various vegetables, we took our coffees and headed down to the PARTY at Cole’s, and got into some wigs and sixties dresses JUST in time for the first band, ‘Gino and the Goons’, to start playing. They were punk rock awesome, and really knew how to get the party goin. At the last song, Lizzie broke out in tambourine and handed out percussion instruments to the everyone and the drum player put all his drums out and people were banging on them! SO much fun. Our set went really well, too, and we were pleased to have a lot of dancers in the audience haahah. House shows are just always better for dancing because people don’t feel as self conscious, I guess. We did SO well that they asked for an encore!!! That was an awesome feeling.

The house show had a pretty good turnout. Annie’s friends that were there were her pals Shilpi, Molly, Joe, and of course Cole and his girlfriend Christina, all really nice and cool people, I’ll say. Amanda’s childhood friend Abra was only there for like five minutes, hilarious couch surfer Aaron Silverman arrived, and Eric Dienstfrey, Nicky’s exboyfriend and pal, had a complete blast. Hhahha.

After socializing and selling a lot of merch, me and Amanda and Lizzie packed into Aaron’s fancy car, blaring ‘My Heart is a Swing State’ from our cd he had bought earlier, and headed down to his obsession, Mr. Yogato, for some amazing frozen yogurt and Nintendo battles. Our next stop on the DC adventure was some late night monument gazing, while dtu rapping, and pointing at random things and saying, “this belongs to Obama”. That was so much fun. Aaron is the funniest guy.

We woke up this morning and immediately began packing up everything into the car, and then went out for brunch (more successful than the crazy southern brunch in Charleston with Tay and Amanda hahaha) at this really tasty restaurant that was at the top floor of a building with an open roof and an incredible view of the city. We enjoyed many benedicts and nutella French toasts with our very best pals, Cole and Christina, before bidding farewell and leaving on our tiger van odyssey.

Well, DC was fun. But New York is next. Needless to say, I’m very very excited.

Dear blog readers:

It’s time to talk about the Bachelorette’s time in North Carolina! We have been here for three days, Tuesday through Thursday, and it’s been absolutely enjoyable to the max. Annie used to go to school here, so we’ve been hanging out with a lot of her friends and going to a lot of her favorite places! But first….

TIGER VAN MUSIC UPDATE!:: we are listening to This Frontier Needs Heroes, which is this really mellow indie folk guy vocals, we love it a lot.

Okay here we go:

Greensboro
Where we played at: this tiny hipster record store called ‘My Favorite Things’ record store. It was really cute and had records hanging on the walls and has this really cool feel to it at night.
What bands we played with: We played with this band called Pinche Gringo, which consists of two of Annie’s friends, Josh and Sarah. Josh has these rough vocals and twangy rock n roll bluesy guitar WHILE playing drums with his feet. Sarah plays maracas and drums, and her vocals are sweet sounding but badass at the same time. We danced SO much!!!!
How the show went: The audience was great and it’s just really nice to play for a small crowd because everyone is standing really close to us and we get more into it and it ends up just being SO much fun for everyone.
What we ATE: exotic lemonade, magic lentil rice, Indian tummie ache!
Friends we hung out with!: We stayed with the adorable and nice Sarah while we were there and befriended her hilarious and sweet roommate, Hannah, who at first weirdly inquired about Lizzie’s sunglasses but ended up bein our best friend and even came with us to see our Durham show! We love her. At the Greensboro show we also hung out with our pal Dylan, who is the drummer of Physics of Meaning. We love him, too!
Rad stuff we did: When we were chilling with Hannah, we went to some vintage shops, and bought dresses and feather hair accessories. We also walked around the downtown area, which was really developed and full of interesting shops. We went inside this living museum called Elsewhere, which was probably one of the highlights of my life. It is this three story old building that used to be a warehouse owned by this old woman, full of army surplus supplies, fabrics, and thrift store clothes and toys. When she passed away, these artists took over it, and used everything in the building to create a museum full of amazing artwork and interactive exhibits, constantly growing as resident artists come in and create breathtaking works and tiny rooms full of dolls and lights and fabrics and trinkets and old old old things everywhere, beautifully displayed and created. It was powerful.
Why this city rules a lot a lot: It is cute and small and quiet and full of friendly neighborhoods. It is known as the Gate City because it was designed so that trains run through it all the time.

Durham
Where we played at: The Pinhook in downtown Durham, which is this really neat bar with a huge stage, collages on the bright red walls, local artwork, lite bright, weird light up sculpture, and chalkboard bathrooms. It was hip and happenin in that place, yo.
What bands we played with: Before Bachelorettes came on, this INCREDIBLE singer songwriter guy named Justin came on with his band ‘Birds or Monsters’, which was a lot of banjo and autoharp to make these beautiful old timey sounds that we adore. The next band was called ‘The Alcazar Hotel’ and effin rocked a lot!! Annie’s friend Owen played guitar in it! We danced really hard. My favorite song was ‘Jesus is a zombie’.
How the show went: Personally, it was MY favorite show. Just because I had so much fun for some reason, I just went crazy. Our friends in the audience had bunches of fun, too! Ahahaha also, we wore red white and blue! I LOVE AMERICA
What we ATE: Toasty sandwiches galore!
Friends we hung out with!: YES in Durham we had SO many friends! Before the show we hung out with a former co-worker of Amanda but current best friend to all, SHELBY! and also Annie’s frittata cookin pal Annick!!! At the show, a bunch of Annie’s friends showed up, I can’t remember them all, and one of Lizzie’s former roommates from the sub-bohemian harlot brigade! Of course Hannah and Dylan were there, duh, groupies.
Rad stuff we did: WE SAW HARRY POTTER! Haaha I slept through a lot of it. Also, we made up the SECOND best game ever! It’s pretty dtu, if you know what I mean.
Why this city rules a lot a lot: It’s full of gorgeous old brick factory buildings and a darling downtown area. Lizzie took pictures of me and Amanda bein models in front of this huge peeling green paint building wall. I love you, Durham.

Chapel Hill
Where we played at: This place downtown in an ALLEY called the NightLight, which was awesome yeah yeah!!! According to Annie it used to be crusty and dusty when she lived in Chapel Hill, but now it is a beautifully artsy place with a neat outside area and artwork everywhere and a GREAT dance floor and a mini fake beach!! PARTY
What bands we played with: Well, we were the only band playing, but after us, all these Djs came up and threw on a bunch of sixties pop records for a SOUL DANCE PARTY which was a good time, to say the least.
How the show went: We KILLED at playing ‘Guitar Solo’! I swear, our shows just keep getting better and better! For the first time in FOREVER I didn’t wear the red wig, I wore the short blonde one which was funny, also I couldn’t put my hands up in the air cuz my dress was too tight. Hahaha.
What we ATE: Annie’s pals Kelly and Richard hosted us for a lovely dinner at there garden porch apartment! We ‘talked about old times over glasses of wine’ and ate  pesto veggie pasta and salad and cheeses! Neat.
Friends we hung out with!: We spent the night at Annie’s friend Alex’s house (she owns the NightLight, pretty much), and in the morning she made us veggie omelet and smoothies! Oh and at the show Shelby came AGAIN, DTP as usual, as well as Annick, a lot of other Annie aquaintances, a rabbi that Amanda knew, and Kathleen from the Greensboro show came as well who is going to MARRY US TO SENRYU!!! ‘Not a Jew’ was dedicated to Chuck and Gali, who ANNIE just married. ahahah
Rad stuff we did: Witnessed a really cool hipster hippie gathering of live music around the city Co-Op, which is like the center of the town. Also, for most of the afternoon me and Lizzie chilled out at the Driade coffee shop, drinkin iced coffees and doin other intellectual things. ahaha
Why this city rules a lot a lot: It’s adorable and friendly and had cute shops and hipsters and college kids and nice nice weather! Oh, just like all of North Carolina? Exactly. We saw a deer!

You may be asking yourselves, “Where are the Bachelorettes headed to next on this crazy tour adventure?” The answer is WASHINGTON D.C., DUH!!!!
